• Most homes built before 1978 contain lead paint.
• Zip codes 14207, 14208, 14211, 14212, 14213, 14215 are at high risk for lead poisoning.
•Disproportionate numbers of African-American and Hispanic children live in these at risk neighborhoods.

• Lead poisoning is 100% preventable.
For too long this poison has been robbing our children of their full potential. Now we are working together as a community to end this social injustice and create a lead safe Western New York.
The Wipe Out Lead campaign is a joint effort created by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo in partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, the City of Buffalo, Erie County, Buffalo Block Clubs, the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Buffalo and Vicinity, Community Action Organization, Buffalo Pre-natal, Peri-natal Network, Environmental Education Associates, and Family Environmental Health Resources, dedicated to ending lead poisoning in Western New York.
If young children spend time in your home and you think you may have a problem with lead paint, call 716/712-5500 today for help. It's free and easy.
